Mother Daughter • Idaho Falls Family Photographer

To know someone your entire lifetime and watch them become a parent and mother is an amazing experience. Jodi is my gorgeous sister who I've looked up in every aspect possible. She takes her role as a mother seriously and takes any opportunity she can to teach lessons to MJ. I love seeing Jodi ask MJ to grab her shoes and bring them over with one in each hand. I'm also grateful to have little MJ as my niece. She has been one of the best things for my soul after miscarrying in February. I look forward to every FaceTime call and every reunion I can get!

Can't wait to follow in my sister's footsteps as a mother one day. I couldn't ask for a better example.

Nikki + Steffen • Kelly Canyon Engagements

I met Nikki back at the Marry Market in March. It was a spring bridal fair hosted and held by The Venue in Rigby. I had the chance to chat with Nikki for a few minutes there. She entered my engagement/bridal session giveaway and won! This shoot has been in the works for a couple months, and I'm so glad we were able to make it happen this past weekend!
We decided to meet up at Kelly Canyon for Nikki and Steffen's engagement session. Kaige came for a couple family shots which just made the entire session that much better. Kaige's little smile was so contagious! Just look at him! And Steffen brought his show truck. Props are actually becoming a new favorite for me. They bring variety and personality into your images. And the classy shots we got with Steffen's show truck were fantastic!
I'm thrilled for Nikki and Steffen to tie the knot. Enjoy some of my favorites from their engagement session!

The Family I Married Into • The Peterson's

The first time I came over to Jacob's house to meet his family, they had Family Home Evening with us. Connie read The Christmas Orange as we all got part of a chocolate orange. My mom read this story for Christmas as well and we had Christmas Oranges in our stockings almost every year. After reading the Christmas Orange, Jesse lead us in scriptures and asked us these thought provoking questions about what we were reading. It made me that much more interested in what we were reading.

That's when I felt at home. Connie and Jesse both reminded me so much of my own parents and who wouldn't want In-Laws that remind you of your own family? Even though the move to Idaho was a difficult transition for me, I'm so thankful I have this wonderful family only 15 minutes away.  Here are a few of our family photos from Sunday night. We had about 20 minutes to get these and I think we did a decent job, even if none of the nieces and nephews wanted to look at me. :)
