Grand Tetons Summer Proposal

This summer proposal is what dreams are made of! I have shot over 30 proposals now in the Grand Tetons and I feel like I’ve gotten it down to the perfect system. So when Henry reached out looking for ideas and how to make sure it was documented and stress-free, (as stress free as proposing to the love of your life can be), I had his back!

Henry and Kira were coming from Australia to the US to travel for a month to visit National Parks. I loved Henry’s idea of proposing near Jackson Hole in the Grand Tetons so we FaceTimed about a week before they headed to the US to line out all the details. Henry mentioned how he and Kira were adventurous and truly loved having fun together. He was pretty certain that Kira would have no idea what was coming, and boy was he right! Kira was in complete shock and so excited that a “stranger” was taking photos of the beautiful moment. The weather ended up being just the right amount of cloudy after another hectic week of weather.

One of my favorite moments to capture as a Grand Tetons proposal photographer is the hug after the moment. There’s pure joy on both faces from such an exciting moment. Honestly I get a bit of a rush from it myself because I’m genuinely so excited for my couples! I’m so grateful Henry trusted me with documenting his epic proposal to Kira. It was a beautiful day with a mix of sunshine and overcast, which just so happens to be my favorite to shoot in.

Jodi + Jayden • Carlsbad, New Mexico

There are certain sessions that just set fire to your soul. They leave you feeling inspired and ready to take on the world and this session did just that!

Doing what you love for a living is amazing, but it's also hard work! And sometimes you don't love what you do the same way you did before after. So sometimes that means grabbing your sister and brother-in-law to create some magic! We decided to head down to New Mexico for Christmas and of course the weather was amazing! Jodi told me about The Flumes in Carlsbad a few days before I came up for a visit and I figured we had to go check it out. It wasn't my typical scene I shoot in, but we went ahead and got creative. I loved that I just had fun during this session and I didn't stress about the technicals. If you haven't already noticed, my sister is a total babe so any session with her turns out so dreamy, but this is one of my all time favorites. Thanks to New Mexico and it's pretty light!

Resa + Jim • A Romantic Picnic

On a beautiful afternoon I was able to get together with Jim and Resa. Jim was an exchange student from Berlin, Germany and was getting ready to head back home. Resa and Jim had the best idea to have a photoshoot done before he left. I was so stoked when they contacted me and mentioned they wanted to have a picnic during their session. I can't think of anything better than that! Activities for photos bring out the best of people and even help you relax and to be yourself during your session.

Resa loves the water and camping, so this area was perfect! It was great watching Jim and Resa just have fun together. After the picnic we explored. Jim saw the swing set and immediately asked Resa to get on. The candids from the swings and the picnic are my favorites. Real moments are the best moments. Enjoy these two love birds!
