Stanley Idaho Elopement

What a year 2020 has been, am I right? I want to shout from the rooftops how amazing all the 2020 brides and grooms are. Like, how in the world do you adapt your venue, number of guests, food, etc when guidelines are changing everyday!? It’s been crazy.

Allison and Evan were no different. They booked their Stanley, Idaho wedding with me back in February. It was always going to be a small ceremony with just a few very close friends and family. I was so stoked to be shooting at Redfish Lake, Stanley Lake, and honestly just see what Stanley, Idaho was all about!

In April Allison reached out to me to make sure we were still all set for their August wedding. All their plans were still the same. Then came early August when Allison let me know that no family would be attending since they were all from out of town. I felt horrible! Elopements are already small weddings, but to not have anyone there just broke my heart for the two of them! I promised we’d get epic photos to show off to all their family and friends.

Stanley is a beautiful area! Oh my gosh it was stunning that day. A storm had just cleared out all the campers and explorers so we had the lake pretty much all to ourselves. During their beautiful ceremony, storm clouds rolled in and created the most even light. Allison and Evan read touching vows to one another as it started to drizzle. Before they went to sign their marriage license, I asked if we could get a few shots so we shot for about 2 minutes before it completely downpoured on us! We ended up signing the marriage license in the officiant’s car!

Shout out to Allison and Evan for dealing with all that 2020 threw them. They can get through anything now.

Tanner + Brittny • Pocatello Bridals

Pocatello has been on my list of places I've wanted to shoot. Every time we drive to Utah I can't help but stare at the stunning mountains through the area. When Brittny mentioned she wanted to do Bridals in Pocatello, I was thrilled, but I had no idea where to shoot! Thank goodness Tausha, Brittny's mom, knew this beautiful area. One of my favorite parts of this spot was being completely surrounded by mountains.

We started the session with a beautiful first look. I think "first looks" are one of the best parts of a bridal session. The excitement that builds up before seeing your future spouse, best friend, and wedding date for the rest of your life, it's pretty neat. I also love being able to document it! Those moments are some of the sweetest and most memorable from my own wedding.

Tanner and Brittny were so giggly and just totally in love during their session! Having been good friends with Tanner the past few years, I am so happy he's found someone who I consider absolutely perfect for him! Congrats to Tanner and Brittny on their wedding day!

These two also did one of the coolest things I've ever had a bride and groom do! Check it out at the end of this blog post!

Madi + Ethan • Payson Temple Wedding

I recommend to my Bride's to do their Bridals and "First Look" a few weeks before the wedding. This has a few perks and one is you'll have wedding photos to display at your reception! Your guests who couldn't attend your ceremony or the temple will adore seeing beautiful photos of the two of you. It's also one less thing you have to do on your wedding day! Your wedding day is one of the most emotional and beautiful days and you'll want to soak it all in. Enjoy that time with family instead of taking an hour away from those who came to celebrate you. With how much I love first looks and a separate bridal session, I  was thrilled when Madi and Ethan told me that's exactly what they wanted.

Madi and Ethan met me at the Payson Temple a few weeks before their October wedding. They had an adorable first look and I remember Ethan saying, "Aw, Mads! You are gorgeous! Let me see your hair!" Ethan was so happy to see his beautiful bride-to-be and I loved hearing him call her Mads. Nicknames have always held a special place in my heart.

The prettiest decorations, cake, flowers, and lights were throughout the reception including quite a bit of pie! The highlight of the entire Bennett and Klassen Wedding was watching as both Madi and Ethan signed to Madi's neighbor, Frankie. They each took 5 minutes to talk and sign back and forth with Frankie as he went through the reception line. It softened my heart seeing the selflessness these two have and I was honored to capture and attend their beautiful October Wedding. Enjoy a few ( or a bunch ) of my favorites from their Wedding.
