Fair Anniversary Session • Blackfoot, Idaho

This past summer we decided to make the fair a priority! We had went the year before, but it was for a very short afternoon so we decided this round to go for the majority of the afternoon.

One of my favorite fair foods is the Tiger’s Ear which is basically a ginormous scone. It was my first time trying a bull’s-eye burger which was absolutely amazing. I love going to the Blackfoot fair and looking through the art as well. I am from Cheyenne, Wyoming and in July there is Cheyenne Frontier Days which is a huge event. People come from all over the country to see the professional bull riding, evening concerts, amazing fair food, and of course the carnival. So I love the Blackfoot fair but I’m used to the go big or go home for fairs and carnivals since Cheyenne Frontier Days is the daddy of them all. So it was hard to compare the Blackfoot fair to it.

Tanner and Brittny went with us to the fair! We always love the positivity and these two give off. I sincerely look up to them! I wanted to have some fun so I got some cotton candy and told them to just flirt and we got these amazing shots of them just being themselves! Then they went and played one of the carnival games together and it was just too cute not to document!

Jodi + Jayden • Anniversary

Colorado is seriously one of my favorite places. It's where my mom's family is from and it seems to be a mutual place of meeting. I knew Jacob and I would be traveling there for Thanksgiving, so I started mentioning it to my sister in hopes that she and Jayden would join. And thank goodness they did because it gave us the chance to have one epic anniversary session on the Monument. After shooting Kaden + Keely's Proposal I knew Jodi and Jayden's Anniversary session had to be up there too. Surprisingly it was a chilly night when we shot so I was wrapped up in my dad's coat most the session.

Jodi purchased her dress from a boutique in Utah called Sew Trendy. Jodi said her customer service was AMAZING! She ended up adding some fabric to get the look Jodi wanted and she did it free of charge! And can we talk about how amazing this dress looks on Jodi?! Seriously, she is a model in anything she wears, but this has to be one of my favorite things next to her lace wedding dress.

Anniversary sessions get to me. I love cerebrating love, especially when it has blossomed over the years. And when we're celebrating new life coming, it makes it all that much better. Jodi and Jayden will be giving my side of the family a niece and I cannot express how excited I am! In less than 2 months I will be meeting my new niece. For now, enjoy the best of the best maternity shots of Jodi and Jayden. :)

Dear Jacob

Dear Jacob,

I still remember running down my apartment stairs and there you were, standing in a blue plaid shirt, jeans, and your skate shoes with the biggest grin on your face. You opened every door, laughed at my dumb jokes and made me feel important, like I was already at the top of your priority list. And then you pulled out your guitar and I melted. You sang your original songs and Hear You Me and I felt like the luckiest girl in the world.

Four years later you still make me feel important, like going to Deepwater Horizon late last night even though you had an early morning today. And I still get the butterflies that come along with it. You never cease to amazing me with the selflessness you show when friends call at 1am to ask for help fixing a car and you do it without hesitation, the talents you pick up within just one day, and the patience and support you have with me and my big dreams.

Thanks for always cooking the meat in our house, driving blizzard conditions to get me to sessions, getting me Wendy's Chili whenever I have a cold, forcing me to be quiet about my gifts so we actually have surprises for Christmas morning, but most of all, supporting me in my business. JayCee Photography would be nothing without you behind the scenes.
Happy Four Year Anniversary.
I love you most,
